Rebuilding a Slow, Plugin-Heavy Marketplace Into a Fast Custom WooCommerce Platform
KnowMyFit needed more than another marketplace plugin. Its previous setup had become slow, bloated and unreliable, with filtering problems and complex multi-currency requirements. SleekAlgo rebuilt the marketplace frontend and backend around a custom WooCommerce architecture designed for speed, fit-based product discovery, vendor management and scalable operations.

CORE CHALLENGE
Replace plugin-heavy architecture without losing functionality
FIT LOGIC

OUTCOME
Fast, scalable custom marketplace framework
The Marketplace Had Become a Performance Problem
KnowMyFit already had the concept and marketplace functionality, but the previous platform was extremely slow and bloated. Filtering frequently failed or returned no useful results, and the overall marketplace experience had become difficult to maintain.
The plugin-heavy architecture created performance problems across both the customer experience and marketplace operations. Multi-currency functionality was especially problematic because the platform needed to account for marketplace, customer and vendor contexts.

ARCHITECTURE DECISION
The Solution Wasn’t Another Marketplace Plugin
SleekAlgo built a custom WooCommerce configurator that lets customers choose the relevant product configuration before purchasing. The selected configuration is carried into WooCommerce cart and order data, so the business receives the exact choices made by the customer.

THE DEFINING FEATURE
Customers Can Shop Around Their Measurements
Customers can enter physical measurements and use them to narrow the catalogue toward products that fit. Corresponding measurement data is stored against product variations so the marketplace can evaluate which variants are relevant to the shopper’s selected range.

PERFORMANCE ENGINEERING
Fast Filtering Required a Different Data Strategy
A marketplace with large numbers of product variations cannot rely on slow, repeated runtime queries for every filter interaction. SleekAlgo built a dedicated product-indexing system to support faster marketplace discovery and more predictable filtering behavior.

Point-in-time admin snapshot: 195 total products, 3,261 total variations, 3,315 indexed rows, 0 missing rows, “Excellent” index health. These are screenshot-state values, not permanent marketplace totals — no numeric speed-improvement percentage is claimed here.

VENDOR MARKETPLACE
Vendor Onboarding and Marketplace Operations Were Rebuilt Too
The project was not limited to the storefront. SleekAlgo rebuilt the vendor side of the marketplace, including onboarding, account management, verification, fee/commission handling and operational administration.

COMMISSION & PAYOUT ARCHITECTURE
Vendors Can Be Paid Through Stripe Connect — or Manually
The payout system supports vendors who use Stripe Connect as well as vendors who need to be paid manually. This gives the marketplace flexibility instead of forcing every vendor into one payout method.
PATH A
Stripe Connect
Connected vendor payout workflow, managed through the marketplace’s Stripe integration.
PATH B
Manual Payout
Administrator pays through PayPal or another method, then records/adjusts the payout in the marketplace backend.
Not every vendor uses Stripe. The architecture intentionally supports both connected and manual payout workflows.
CHECKOUT ARCHITECTURE
We Changed the Payment Architecture When the Original Approach Hit Real Marketplace Limits
The initial plan was to build the customer payment flow around Stripe Checkout. During implementation, marketplace/vendor-payment constraints made that architecture unsuitable for the final requirements. Rather than forcing the original technical plan, SleekAlgo moved the frontend payment flow back to WooCommerce native checkout so the marketplace could support the required customer payment methods — including PayPal — and vendor-payment workflows more reliably.

SHIPPING INFRASTRUCTURE
Shipping Needed to Work Across a Multi-Vendor, Multi-Region Marketplace
SleekAlgo built dedicated shipping-zone administration as part of the marketplace framework so regional shipping behavior could be managed centrally.

The captured state shows active zones for Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Pakistan, United States and Canada — a screenshot-state configuration record, not a permanent or exhaustive supported-country list.
DISCOVERY BEYOND PRODUCTS
The Marketplace Also Helps Customers Discover Designers by Location
KnowMyFit includes geographic designer discovery. Customers can browse designers through map-based, location and distance-based filtering — demonstrating that the marketplace experience extends beyond products into vendor and community-style browsing.

A Fast, High-Quality Marketplace Built for Complex Requirements
The rebuilt KnowMyFit platform combines customer-facing fit discovery with marketplace operations, vendor management, commissions, payouts, shipping logic and WooCommerce checkout inside a custom architecture. The most important technical result is that SleekAlgo now has its own marketplace framework capable of supporting complex requirements without returning to the same plugin-heavy architecture.
BEFORE
Slow and bloated marketplace
Plugin-heavy architecture
Filtering unreliable
Complex multi-currency/payment behavior
Difficult marketplace maintenance
AFTER
Custom WooCommerce marketplace framework
Measurement-based discovery
Product indexing
Custom vendor onboarding/management
Commission/payout workflows
Stripe Connect + manual payouts
WooCommerce checkout + PayPal support
Regional shipping-zone management
Fast, scalable architecture
No PageSpeed scores, Core Web Vitals figures, order growth, revenue growth or vendor-growth metrics are claimed — the outcome above is qualitative.

The Marketplace Framework Became a Reusable Engineering Asset
SleekAlgo didn’t just rebuild KnowMyFit. The project produced a proven engineering approach — for discovery, vendor operations, payouts and shipping — that we can now adapt to future marketplace projects with similarly complex requirements. This is engineering capability we’ve built, not a packaged product or SaaS offering we sell.
